Horse Rescue — Lily

Lily, a 20-year-old Belgian horse, lived on a farm in southeast Boulder County. As she aged, Lily had a difficult time standing back up after laying down to rest. Horses cannot remain laying down for long periods of time as it stresses their organs.

On three occasions, BES was called out to assist with helping Lily get back on her feet. Using ropes, harness, and rigging gear, rescuers successfully raised Lily on two occasions. Our rescue efforts gave Lily's owners a few extra weeks with their beloved horse.
